Garcia: Second Leg Will weight, but Roma Can Win
Roma – Roma coach Rudi Garcia, called his team suffered mental problems and eventually fail to maintain an edge over Feyenoord. Although the second leg will be tough to Rome, Garcia believes his side can win.
Rome was able to beat Feyenoord in the first leg of the Europa League round of 32 at the Olimpico, Friday (02/20/2015) pm dawn. The Giallorossi have to accept a draw 1-1.
Rome actually lead through Gervinho goal. The excellence last until halftime.
But, in the second half Feyenoord appear more aggressive. They were able to score the equalizing goal with a shot of Colin Kazim-Richards.
“We have to consider the psychological factor in games like tonight,” Garcia said in the official club website.
“We excel at halftime and probably wrong for trying to keep the score in the second half. We survive too deep and stop pressuring them as in the first half,” he added.
“When it 1-1, we tried to attack and unfortunately we could not score the second goal because we deserve it,” said Garcia.
A 1-1 draw was not too favorable to Rome. In the second leg will be held next week, they will turn to visit the headquarters of Feyenoord. To qualify for the next round, they must win or bring home a draw with a score greater than 1-1.
“It’s not finished. It’s only half-time in the last 32 and we still have another game. However, it is certain we should have scored in Rotterdam,” said Garcia.
“With the score 1-1, the match in the Netherlands will be heavy for us. But, we can do it and we will go there to win the duel,” he said.
