Arsenal CEO: Making Proud Fans More Important Than Winning the Champions League

London – Being the Champions League by Arsenal CEO Ivan Gazidis, not the main purpose of the club. Gazidis states that make Arsenal fans are proud to be the more important things.

Under the direction of Arsene Wenger, Arsenal consistently appearing in the Champions League. The Gunners have never failed to qualify for the Champions League over the past 17 seasons in a row.

Arsenal’s best achievement of the highest in the European club competitions it is through the final in the 2005/2006 season. But they had to settle for runner-up after being defeated by Barcelona.

Until now, Arsenal can not afford to repeat or even surpass these achievements. In the last five seasons, Arsenal actually always stalled in the last 16.

But for Gazidis, winning the Champions League is not the main priority Arsenal. According to him, the most important is to make the fans proud.

“When we talk about the goal, it was not winning the Champions League, it is to make the fans proud,” said Gazidis as quoted by the BBC.

“It is a matter of making people in the club proud of what we do and how we do it,” he added.

Before the FA Cup trophy last season, Arsenal had a degree fasting for nine years. Premier League title was already more than 10 years was felt by Arsenal after the last time champion in 2003/2004.

“We got a lot of criticism, but we’ve got people at the club were very strict about where this club wants to go and it will not fall by the whims that occur from day to day,” said Gazidis.
